I believe every person has a story that deserves to be heard with compassion, empathy, and genuine understanding. I am passionate about walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life's complexities, explore their experiences, and build self-awareness and emotional well-being. I strive to create a welcoming space where clients feel valued, respected, and empowered.
My professional journey began as a mental health counselor at a locked psychiatric facility, where I gained valuable experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. I was later promoted to program manager, a role that led me into social services and broadened my program leadership experience while deepening my support for individuals facing challenging circumstances. These experiences shaped my approach to mental health care and strengthened my commitment to meeting each person with humility, compassion, empathy, and respect.
I welcome faith-based integration into the therapeutic process when appropriate. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and IFS (Internal Family Systems), and I am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I explore generational patterns within family systems and how experiences, beliefs, and relational dynamics passed down through generations can influence our lives and relationships. I look forward to working with individuals, children, and couples to help them gain insight into themselves, strengthen their relationships, and develop healthier coping skills. As a bilingual Spanish-speaking clinician, I am passionate about serving the Spanish-speaking community and helping clients feel understood and supported in their preferred language.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy at California Baptist University to deepen my understanding of relationships, family dynamics, and how our experiences shape who we are.
My Christian faith is central to my life and a source of hope and encouragement. One of my favorite Bible verses is Matthew 6:26: “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” This verse reminds me of God's faithful care, the value He places on each of us, and the peace that comes from trusting Him, even in uncertain seasons.
Outside my professional life, I enjoy birdwatching, nature walks, and reading. I also love good food, meaningful fellowship, and quality time with family. I find joy in appreciating creation's beauty and in the simple moments that draw us closer to God.
I consider it a privilege to support others as they gain insight into themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move toward lives aligned with their values and hopes.
